EXPIRE-IP-DB(1) |
expire-ip-db - remove old entries from a dns-terror DB file
expire-ip-db [-v] [-d days] [-m mark-size] [ip2host.db]
expire-ip-db removes entries older than a given time from a DB file
produced by dns-terror. This keeps the DB file from growing without
bounds. If this were not done, then eventually the overhead of storing months'
worth of IP address to hostname mappings could become greater than the speed
benefit from having them available, and the memory image of dns-terror
could become unworkably large.
- -d days
- Remove entries older than days. Default is 35 days, which is long enough
for daily entries to last to the next monthly report.
- -m marksize
- Print a notice every marksize entries.
- -v
- Verbose: print progress messages.
- ip2host.db
- Default DB file to process.
