Signed Digital Certificates can be ordered for periods of one to three years, depending on the Signing Authority. It is
important to renew digital certificates no less than 30 days prior to the their expiration date to avoid any interruption in
SSL service.
The renewal process is different for each vendor and certificate type, and may require the generation of a new CSR. Below are
links to a few of the Signing Authorities. Locate the Digital Certificate you originally ordered, and click Renew to receive
further instructions.
After you have completed the renewal process, the Signing Authority will issue a new signed certificate. Once you have received
the renewed certificate, you will need to replace the original certificate on your server, and restart Apache. Follow the
instructions to Install your Signed Digital Certificate to
complete this process.
